FREE EVENT Maintenance Day

We love Govan’s unique historic buildings and the special sense of place and distinct character they bring. But to look after them properly you need to have an understanding of the traditional materials and building techniques used to build them.

That’s why the Govan Cross Townscape Heritage Initiative team has organised a FREE Traditional Building Maintenance Day in The Pearce Institute on Tuesday 25th March at 10am. Everyone can attend.

This is a drop in event, you can do as little or as much as you want, and, best of all, it’s free. So why not take advantage of this great opportunity and get involved.

As well as learning some helpful hints and tips on appropriate building maintenance, you’ll also have the opportunity to view repair demonstrations, take a walking tour highlighting Govan’s historic buildings and common repair issues, and direct any questions you may have about your own building to leading experts.

This is an light hearted informal event that aims to give everyone who has an interest in Govan’s historic built environment a chance to learn and understand the unique signature buildings that makes Govan so distinctive.
