Complementing the improvements taking place to the streets and spaces at the Pearce Institute and the entrance to Govan Old, the Govan War Memorial is undergoing conservation repair. Works to clean the bronze plaque, repoint the memorial and carry out a very gentle clean will take place in the summer of 2019.
The casket containing the Govan Roll of honour has been found inside the War Memorial during works to repair the bronze plaque. Unfortunately the Roll of Honour itself has disintegrated due to water penetration, but the Govan Reminiscence Group are hard at work tracking down a copy.
