FREE ‘Winter Warmer’ History Talks!

Join us to learn more about Govan’s unique History and Heritage!

As part of the Govan Cross THI we will be running a series of informal evening lectures on a range of interesting topics, such as Govan’s archaeology, Scotland’s Historic Cinemas, Shipbuilding, Graveyards and  Building Preservation.

Our first ‘Winter Warmer’ event will take place on Tuesday 22nd January 2013 at 6.30pm, in the Pearce Institute.

Professor Stephen Driscoll, from Glasgow University Archaeology Department, will present a talk entitled ‘Romancing the Govan Stones: Archaeological Explorations of an Ancient British Capital’. This will be followed by an interesting and informative introduction to heritage-led regeneration: Govan – Recovering the Place, presented by David Robertson, a Planning Consultant with extensive experience of working in Govan.

Delicious cakes and refreshments will be provided!

This is a free, drop-in event and EVERYONE IS WELCOME to attend.
